An Evening with Visionary Voudon Artist Sean Woodward

AN EVENING WITH SEAN WOODWARD is a rare opportunity to gain an insight into the work of this artist and initiate of Ordo Templi Orientis Antiqua (founded in 1921 in Haiti by the gnostic patriarch and Voudon high priest Lucien-Francois Jean-Maine, being a fusion of western and voudun magical gnosis and brought to the attention of the west by the enigmatic occultist Michael Bertiaux) and the cult of La Couleuvre Noire (an independent order of voudun founded in 1922). Elaborating on the Voudon Gnostic themes within his art and taking the audience on a journey into the secret world of visionary illumination, the evening will be augmented with readings from his published works and examples of his paintings which continue to enthrall collectors in Europe, America and beyond. His work is also informed by extensive travel in the near and far east and by musical threads which culminated in his 2011 album Zodios, released in Berlin.

Sean Woodward is a contemporary artist, esotericist, writer, publisher, poet and musician with over three and a half decades of dedicated magickal experience and artistic expression. He stands at the crossroads between the arts and digital media and seeks to utilise this unique fusion to create artistic portals and magickal machines of illumination and devotion to the Hoodoo and Les Vudu.

He is the creator of the Carrefour Tarot and his art and essays have been published internationally, appearing in Lamp of Thoth, Zhoupheus, Sabbatica, Qliphoth, AST MA ION-EOS TAR NIXET, The Thirteenth Path and Estronomicon.

He currently serves as the British representative for Ordo Templi Orientis Antiqua & La Couleuvre Noire.

In the early 1980s he was a member of the Typhonian Nephthys Arachna Power Zone (affiliated to the Monastery of the Seven Rays) and has a lifetime charter as Knight Diplomatis Supreme (Society OTO).
