Thank you for this fascinating insight into your method, Sean. I write myself, though only recently, as a research associate of the University of Oxford — and not a student — have I been able to finally channel my own ideas into writing. The Hemingway quote about bleeding is rather apt. You seem to gloss over this, but I wonder if at times you do still feel that anguish and that pain, or if, with time, you have transcended it.
