The Mission – The Final Chapter
  • Wayne Hussey's The Mission at Shepherd's Bush

Walking away from the Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London on Saturday 1st March  2008 it was difficult to believe that this was the last ever Mission show. Wayne Hussey’s band have been one of the lodestones of my musical landscape. Like The Cult, who they first supported, they have never failed to produce the best live experiences, matched only by the loyalty of their fans.

Postscript … fortunately this was not to be the end! Not only did The Mission live on, but celebrated their 25th anniversary on 26.10.11 in London with my original, all-time favourite goth band, Fields of the Nephilim. Needless to say I stood in the line which reached right round the Brixton Academy.
